Assembly Business Meeting
The Assembly Business Meeting starts with the presentations on the WGEA Progress in general issues (WGEA Secretariat), which is followed by a panel of regional activities and results of the INTOSAI WGEA 2023-2025 Work Plan projects (project leaders), after which the projects will be adopted. The meeting continues with the presentation and adoption of the WGEA Activities of 2026-2028 (SAI Thailand), after a keynote speech from Dr Andrea Hinwood, Chief Scientist of UNEP, on 'Exploring the Future of Environmental Challenges: Current Trends and Emerging Issues'.
The programme continues with the 4th WGEA Awards. The topic of the Award is inspiration in environmental auditing. The programme is concluded by handing over the Chairmanship of the Working Group (SAI Finland and SAI Thailand).
The INTOSAI Working Group on Environmental Auditing (WGEA) aims to increase the expertise in environmental auditing and to enhance environmental governance with high-quality contribution and visibility by both members of the Working Group and non–member SAIs. Currently the INTOSAI WGEA consists of 86 member countries.
